IELTS – International English Language Testing System
The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is the world’s most widely accepted and trusted English proficiency test for study, work, and migration. Over three million candidates take the exam each year. IELTS scores are recognized by more than 10,000 institutions, including universities, employers, professional bodies, and government agencies across 140+ countries.
You can choose to take the IELTS on paper or on computer, based on your convenience. Both formats follow the same content, structure, and difficulty level. It is important to select the correct module — IELTS Academic or IELTS General Training — depending on your purpose.
For studying in the UK, you must take the IELTS for UKVI, which is approved by UK Visas and Immigration.
IELTS Test Format
IELTS assesses all four language skills:

Speaking
The Listening, Reading, and Writing sections take place on the same day, one after another, without any breaks.
For the Speaking test, you can book your preferred date and time online. If you do not select a slot within the given time, an appointment will be assigned automatically.
The total test duration is less than three hours.
